Advanced Radiology Team gives back to the community

Advanced Radiology Maryland | Staff Members

Advanced Radiology Team gives back to the community:
Darlene Ridgway, Debbie Herdecker, Donna Marin, Tina McGinley and Karley Ames all volunteered to work and represent RadNet and Advanced at the University of Maryland Orthopedics' "Camp Open Arms".

This is a camp for children with limb "differences" and injuries, where the can go and not actually feel different and where they can hike, play sports, do arts and crafts, laser tag, obstacle courses and more. They learn that the only limitations they have are those that others place on them, and they can be confident, happy and successful at so many things.

Camp Open Arms, a collaboration of the University of Maryland Children's Hospital and the University of Maryland Department of Orthopaedics, is a camp for children ages 4 and older who have limb challenges.

The camp’s mission is to provide a fun yet challenging camp experience for children with brachial plexus injuries and other limb differences, helping them gain strength, courage, and determination while building bonds with other children and families just like them. Pediatric orthopaedist Dr. Josh Abzug is the Camp's Director.

The three-day summer adventure offers fun camp experiences like nature hikes, tree swings, arts & crafts and new friendships! Wednesday, August 16, Thursday, August 17 & Friday, August 18 9:30 am - 3:30 pm
