Baltimore, Maryland - Advanced Radiology, one of the largest and most progressive radiology practices in the country, has announced plans to open a new 10,000 square foot outpatient imaging center in Annapolis early next year. The imaging center, located at 888 Bestgate Road, is scheduled to open in January 2003. Advanced Radiology is the Baltimore Area's largest diagnostic imaging provider. With the completion of this imaging center, Advanced Radiology will have 22 outpatient imaging centers staffed by 85 board certified radiologists at locations in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll, Harford, and Howard Counties with affiliations at seven hospitals. The new imaging center will provide a full range of services from magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), mammography, ultrasound, computed tomography (CT) with 3-Dimensional Imaging, DEXA scanning, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, as well as general radiography and fluoroscopy. Positron emission tomography (P.E.T.) will be added by Spring 2003. "Our new facility in Annapolis will be an example of patient friendly, high tech, twenty-first century medicine," said Robert Stroud, MD, President of Advanced Radiology. "It will provide the highest quality diagnostic services to the Annapolis community." Advanced Radiology was formed in 1995 by the merger of several successful smaller practices who have been serving the Baltimore region for over 30 years. The large number of radiologists afford the group a large degree of sub-specialization. All of the radiologists are board certified by the American Board of Radiology and many are certified with added qualifications in sub-specialties such as neuroradiology, pediatric neuroradiology, vascular and interventional radiology and nuclear medicine.
