Judy Destouet, M.D., FACR

Rightly considered one of the foremost mammographers in the country, Dr. Destouet has served as Chief of Mammography at Advanced Radiology since its inception in 1995. She received her medical degree from the Baylor College of Medicine and completed her residency at Mallinckrodt Institute of Radiology, Washington University School of Medicine, St. Louis.

As quoted in the Baltimore Magazine article, her colleague, Dr. H. Alexander Munitz notes, "She has an encyclopedic knowledge of breast disease and breast imaging. She is technically very talented and is a very sensitive, caring radiologist."

Attributable in large part to Dr. Destouet's efforts, Advanced Radiology has one of the largest mammography programs in the country, with more than 150,000 mammograms performed each year. And a recent audit showed that Advanced's ability to correctly detect breast cancer is superior to the national average.

Dr. Destouet is board-certified in Diagnostic Radiology by The American Board of Radiology with a medical specialty interest in Breast Imaging.



H. Alexander Munitz, Jr., M.D, FACR

Dr. Munitz has subspecialty interest in gastroenterologic radiology, genitourinary radiology and mammography. He has served as Chairman of the Department of Radiology of Greater Baltimore Medical Center since 1991. A graduate of the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa, he completed a residency in Radiology at Baragwanath Hospital in South Africa. Dr. Munitz also completed a residency in Radiology and a Fellowship in Abdominal Imaging at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in North Carolina. He is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology through the American Board of Radiology.

Dr. Robert Stroud, president of Advanced Radiology, comments, "Dr. Munitz has provided strong leadership to the department and outstanding clinical service to patients in his many years as Chairman at GBMC. He continues to lead the way by introducing multi-slice CT and virtual colonoscopy at the hospital."

Dr. Munitz's interests include European History, Baroque music and Art.



M. Alma Lynch-Nyhan, MD

Dr. Margaret Alma Lynch-Nyhan specializes in Vascular and Interventional Radiology and is Chief of Radiology at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, Maryland. A graduate of the University College Cork in Ireland, she completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Cork Regional Hospital.

After coming to the US, Dr. Lynch-Nyhan completed a residency in Diagnostic Radiology, and a Fellowship in Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Lynch-Nyhan is certified through the American Board of Radiology for Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiology and Diagnostic Radiology.

According to Robert Stroud, MD, president of Advanced Radiology, Dr. Lynch-Nyhan is a devoted mother and marathon runner as well as a superb radiologist. He states, "Having recently accepted the position of Chief of Radiology at St.Joseph Medical Center, Dr. Lynch-Nyhan continues her distinguished career in interventional radiology. Her combination of the latest technical skills and compassionate demeanor provides superb care for the whole patient."
