Robert M. Abbott, M.D.
Dr. Abbott graduated from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia in 1985. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at Wilford Hall Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas in 1986. Following an active duty tour with the United States Air Force as a Flight Surgeon, he completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the Medical College of Pennsylvania in 1993. He retired from the United States Air Force Reserve as Lieutenant Colonel in 2006. He has previously served as a Residency Program Director in Diagnostic Radiology.

Dr. Abbott’s interests include abdominal imaging with radiologic-pathologic correlation. He has published and been an invited speaker on these topics. He is an active member of numerous professional organizations including the Society of Gastrointestinal Radiology (SGR), Society of Uroradiology (SUR), and the International Society of Magnetic Resonance in Medicine (ISMRM). He serves on various committees of the Radiological Society of North America, and the American Roentgen Ray Society. He is a member of the American College of Radiology and serves as Secretary of the Maryland Radiological Society. His current academic appointments include the University of Maryland School of Medicine and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. Dr. Abbott is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology where he also serves as a Board Examiner in Genitourinary Radiology.

 

Blair J. Andrew, M.D.
Dr. Andrew currently serves as the Chairman of the Radiology Department at Franklin Square Hospital Center, and is a member of the Advanced Radiology Board of Directors. He attended Dartmouth Medical School, where he earned his M.D. in 1982. He then completed his residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Diagnostic Radiology in 1986. Dr. Andrew did a fellowship in MRI, Ultrasound, CT and General Radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1986, and board certified with Added Qualifications in Vascular/Interventional Radiology since 1996.

 

Charles J.E. Arnold, M.D.
Dr. Arnold is a 1969 graduate of the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Arnold completed his Radiology Residency at the University of Maryland Hospital from 1970 - 73. He completed his Fellowship in Pediatrics at Johns Hopkins University in 1969. Dr. Arnold was Board certified by the American Board of Radiology on December 14, 1974.

 

 

Daniel Aronson, M.D.
Dr. Aronson graduated from New York Medical College in 1984. He then completed an internship in pediatrics at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center, and a residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York. He completed a fellowship in cross-sectional imaging at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1990. After his fellowship, he became an attending radiologist at Johns Hopkins Hospital and an Assistant Professor of Radiology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. In 1992, he entered private practice and became a part-time faculty member at Hopkins. Dr. Aronson’s medical specialty interests are in Ultrasound and Breast Imaging, including stereotactic and ultrasound guided biopsies. Dr. Aronson has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1989.

 

 

Fred Ashman, M.D.
Dr. Ashman graduated from The University of Maryland School of Medicine in Baltimore in 1975. He remained at the University of Maryland to complete his residency in Diagnostic Radiology (1979). Dr. Ashman completed a Fellowship in Ultrsound and Computed Tomography at the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Philadelphia in 1980. Dr. Ashman is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology.

Stewart P. Axelbaum, M.D.
Dr. Axelbaum graduated from St. Louis University School of Medicine in St. Louis, MO in 1971. He completed his internship and residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Georgetown University Medical Center in 1976. He then spent three years at Walter Reed Army Medical Center setting up the first CT unit in the United States military. Dr. Axlebaum is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology.

 

 

 

Janaki Balakrishnan, M.B.B.S.
Dr. Balakrishnan graduated from the University of Madras in India in 1973. She completed her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore in June 1983. She also completed a Fellowship in Neuroradiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in 1989. Dr. Balakrishnan is board certified in Diagnostic Radiology with added qualifications in Neuroradiology by the American Board of Radiology. She is a Senior Member of the American Society of Neuroradiology. In addition to her work with Advanced Radiology, she continues to teach on a part time basis as part of the faculty at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.

 

Paul H. Barnett, M.D.
Dr. Barnett is a graduate of the State University of New York (S.U.N.Y.) in Buffalo. He remained there to do his internship and residency in Diagnostic Radiology, which he completed in 1978. Dr. Barnett completed a Fellowship in Cross-Sectional Imaging and Interventional Radiology at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He has been board certified in Diagnostic Radiology by the American Board of Radiology since 1980. Dr. Barnett’s medical specialty interests are in cross-sectional body imaging in MRI, CT, and Ultrasound. He served as the Medical Director of Magnetic Imaging of Baltimore from 1987 to 1996.

 

Randy M. Becker, M.D.
Dr. Becker graduated from St. George's University School of Medicine in 2000. He completed his internship in Transitional Medicine at the St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, New Jersey. Dr. Becker completed his residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the George Washington University Hospital in 2005 and a fellowship in Neuroradiology at the University of Maryland Medical Center in 2006.

Dr. Becker is currently a member of the American Society of Neuroradiology, American College of Radiology, and Radiological Society of North America.  He is co-author of over ten peer-reviewed scientific journal abstracts and manuscripts.  Currently, he volunteers part-time as a visiting faculty member for the St. George’s University School of Medicine.  Dr. Becker’s medical specialty interests include Neuroradiology and Musculoskeletal MRI and CT imaging.
